What is Snipping Tool?

Snipping Tool is a screenshot tool built into Windows as a standard feature. You can cut and save a portion of the screen, capture the entire screen, or record the screen.

How to Launch Snipping Tool

You can mainly launch it in the following 3 ways.

Press the Win key, type Snipping Tool, and press the Enter key.
Press Win + Shift + S.
Press Win + R, type snippingtool, and press the Enter key.

How to Use Snipping Tool

The steps to save a captured image are as follows:

Select the Camera icon.
Click the New button.
Select the area you want to capture.
Click the Save as button.

When uploading an image to the internet, there may be times when you want to blur or pixelate a specific area. With paint.net, you can quickly edit your images.

Steps

1. Open the image you want to pixelate in paint.net

2. Use the selection tool to select the area you want to pixelate (multiple selections are possible)

Adjust the coarseness of the mosaic effect with the Cell Size. A larger value provides higher concealment.
[Downsampling] Select Multi-sampled bilinear
[Upsampling] Select Nearest neighbor

Click OK to close the dialog.

4. The mosaic effect will be applied to the image, so you can now save it.

Steps

1. Open the image you want to add a border to in paint.net

2. Set the secondary color (this will be the color of the border)

If the color palette is not displayed, press the F8 key on your keyboard.

If you want to set it to black, click on .

Increase the width and height by 2 pixels each. Increasing them by 2 pixels will create a 1-pixel border. If you want a 5-pixel border, increase the width and height by 10 pixels each.

Select “Middle” for the anchor, and click OK.
