What is Snipping Tool?

Snipping Tool is a screenshot tool built into Windows as a standard feature. You can cut and save a portion of the screen, capture the entire screen, or record the screen.

How to Launch Snipping Tool

You can mainly launch it in the following 3 ways.

• Press the Win key, type Snipping Tool, and press the Enter key.
• Press Win + Shift + S.
• Press Win + R, type snippingtool, and press the Enter key.

How to Use Snipping Tool

The steps to save a captured image are as follows:

1. Select the Camera icon.
2. Click the New button.
3. Select the area you want to capture.
4. Click the Save as button.
5. Enter the destination and file name to save.

The steps to save a captured video are as follows:

1. Select the Video icon.
2. Click the New button.
3. Select the area you want to capture.
4. Click the Start button.
5. Record the screen.
6. Click the Stop button.
7. Click the Save as button.
8. Enter the destination and file name to save.
